Adoptions and Sponsorship

Here at CRF we are in the back end of a hay crisis ( like most of the south ) and typicaly this time of year adoptions slow down.  So I am taking a minute to ask if you have any intention of donating.   It would really help us at this time.   Funds are low, the last group of rescues have needed lots of extras.  And feed prices are rising.   Please consider helping the horses with a monatary gift.  A big thanks go out to all who have supported us in past, and a big thanks to all our new supporters. On this site is a pay pal button also contact info on the contact page.  And please don't forget our on line mall for your shopping needs a portation of all sales are returned to CRF in the form of MONEY.

Our animals are available for adoption after their recovery has come as far as it can. Adoption fees are based on the expenses inccured while recovery is taking place and the over all value of the animals. While we here at Choctaw Ridge believe that every animal is "one in a  million ", there is a market value. If you see an aminal on this site that you wish to inquire about please contact us and we will be glad to fill you in on availability and fees.

Animals Available for Adoption

For those who wish to help but can not adopt, we offer sponsorship. Our sponsorship program is a wonderful way to support these beautiful animals in their journey to health.  For $50 a month level you receive a biography of your sponsored animal, a newsletter to keep you updated on the happenings here at CRF, and you receive an update on how your animal is doing and a new picture every three months. You will also receive a T-Shirt to show your support of CRF.  The next level of sponsorship level is $25 a month.    At this level you receive a newsletter, a biography of your sponsored animal.   Finally, for a sponsorship of $10 a month you will recieve a newsletter explaining the happening here at Choctaw Ridge Farms.

New Arrivals to CRF

Welcome to Choctaw Ridge Farms

Tucked away in the woods by the town of Ruth, Mississippi is a farm called Choctaw Ridge,    where a group of volunteers with big hearts maintain a non-profit farm. There,  mistreated hooved animals can learn to trust humans again. Some of the animals have been abused, and some where simply neglected.    Once the animals have been rescued they provide food, love and work on solving behavor problems while nursing them back to health.    Some of the horses never fully recover and maybe rendered unable to carry a rider or be bred. Thus on a working farm they would be considered "useless" (a term NEVER used at Choctaw Ridge Farms).  Some of them make a beautiful and complete recovery.  Once recovery is complete these beautiful creatures are ready to find a forever home, or live out their natural lives at Choctaw Ridge Farms.

BIG NEWS !!!!!

CRF HAS BEGUN THE RENOVATIONS WE HAVE ONLY DREAMED OF.    THE BACK FIVE ACRES OF CRF HAVE BEEN WOODS, VERY PRETTY BUT USELESS TO THE HORSES HERE.    HURRICANE KATRENIA STARTED THE PROCESS BY TAKING OUT MANY TREES.    WE HAD A LUMBER COMPANY COME IN AND TAKE OUT LOTS MORE TREES.   AND NOW THANKS TO WONDERFUL PEOPLE WHO NOT ONLY DONATED THE USE OF THEIR EQUIPMENT.   BUT CAME OUT VOLUNTEERED THEIR TIME AND SWEAT.    THE PASTURE IS SOON ON ITS WAY TO TO GRAZING.    WE WILL BE DOING A FEATURE WITH PICTURES AND CREDITS TO EVERYONE INVOLVED.   PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR THAT.   AND AGAIN OUR THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS MADE THIS POSSIABLE.

CRF has reached a crisis, funds are low and adoptable horses are not moving.    We have several pasture companion horses that need to move on.   And ridable horses that for some reason we can not adopt.   When this happens it put all the animals here at risk.   We have gotten several dogs dropped off here, the extra burden of feeding them has hurt as well.   The rescue is in danger of closing.   This means the horses we have worked so hard to save will be in danger again.   If we can not care for them, we will do what ever is nessary.   Please if you can help in any way, choose now to do so.    If you can foster, please let us know.   If you have an outlet for the dogs here also contact the rescue.   Thanks to all the  supporters we have, it is because of you that we have maintained it this long.
